Template vs. Custom, Picking the Right Web Design for Your SEO Campaign.
January 5, 2013
If you own a business today, one of the essentials to being successful is having a website that answers the needs of your consumer. Whether it be offering them your product, service or just allowing them to find a way to contact you, a successful website and SEO campaign will give you access to thousands of potential costumers (and vice versa). With this is mind, it can be a daunting task, both in time and money to create a site that represents your business and gets results.
When starting from square one, business owners are faced with two options, designing their site using a template or creating a custom site from scratch. A template seems quick and easy, and to be fair typically is. You pay a set fee and instantly have the framework to a clean design. Plug in a few photos here, write a little content there and poof, you have a website…that looks just like hundreds of others. Sure you have a different font and background color, and but the truth of the matter is your cookie was cut just like everyone else’s.
The two things to keep in mind when building a successful SEO campaign are 1. Be relevant and 2. Be unique. This starts with creating a website design that’s specific to you and your business. Just like everything in your business, you have to think of your website as a long term investment. Spending the extra time and the money upfront is going to benefit you in end.
